Innovate Media - Sunshine Coast Video Production & Video Marketing Agency 39 Google reviews Shannon Lemanski10 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was a small business owner that had been trading less than 12-months when I was introduced to Ben at a Caloundra Chamber of Commerce event at Innovate Media. My company specialises in water-from-air technology and as the tech is reasonably new, the first question we always get is “how does it work?” Unfortunately, regardless of how we explained it or what props we used; a lot of our customers just couldn’t visualise how the technology worked. We quickly realised this was one of the biggest bottle necks to conversions, and we needed a reliable way to convey this information to potential customers. Although we’d tried PowerPoint and other online animation tools, nothing was resonating with our audience. That’s how we knew we needed a video – but had no idea of how to make one. Ben and the Innovate team made that video for us – and although we’d heard they were good, the end product was better than we ever could have imagined! After a quick session and having sent over just a few assets, Ben and the team delivered us a first cut that included animation, voice over and awesome stock footage. We reviewed that version, provided some guidance and the final product was delivered to a high standard perfect for our market channels. Now we have an awesome asset for our website, socials and trade shows, that easily demonstrate our customers what the tech is and how it works! Love what the Innovate team do – will be commissioning another project through them soon! Michael Molloy15 August 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. At dtb! We recently collaborated with Ben and the team at Innovate Media on a large project for a medical client involving a range of elearning content and marketing videos. We had worked with them previously and knew they would be the right team for a project that had MANY moving parts. From end-to-end the team was A-1. Planning, scripting, client management, shoot planning, talent, the shoot and edit were seamless. The final videos nailed the brief and are now being used to train medical teams nationwide. Thanks Ben, you're the best and we look forward to working with you again. Clint Eve McIntyre30 April 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fabulous service, very happy! DYFA Plumbing and Electrical24 October 2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Innovate help us with some reels for our social media. Helped us all the way through the process with initial strategy calls, establishing and assisting with content through to the actual filming. Where as plumbers and electricians we needed a lot of help and guidance for the filming! This was greatly appreciated and the production of the reels turned them into professional footage. Thank you to Ben and the team and we are looking forward to getting these out on to all our platforms and producing interest and leads to our company. Brad John11 September 2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Innovate Media's work is outstanding! I would have to say that Ben's work finds a way of capturing the essence and soul of what you want to put out into the world. One of my core values in my business is authenticity and so I thought I would include an 'in the moment' response to my own branding video being finalised. See below; "I know your email said there is no need to reply after approving it. But I just wanted to express how in awe I am of your work, and it means alot. Very grateful and happy about what you have created to represent my practice. This experience has been really amazing. Thanks so much". The number one goal when sending a broadcast email to your email list is ATTENTION. If you get your subject line right, you get attention. Get the content of your email right, you’ll get attention.
And to really get attention, that’s where I recommend using video in your email.
In this quick tip article, I’m going to be sharing how to embed videos directly into the body of your email using my recommended email software ConvertKit.
If you’re not yet using ConvertKit for your email, then check out this video which runs you through 3 other ways to do this regardless of your software.
Video in email has never been a simple task. The fact is that in most cases you can’t simply paste a video into an email like you would a still image, or a gif. If you wanted to send a video to your email list then you would have to rely on text hyperlinks, or hacking the system to make it look like a video thumbnail which when clicked would send someone off to play your video elsewhere. This is the process I shared about in the video which I’ve linked to – How to Embed Video in Email (3 super simple ways)
That is until now, because the awesome team over at ConvertKit have introduced an even easier way to get your video content embedded right into the body of your email.
First, from within your ConvertKit account, click on the ‘Send’ menu and then the Broadcasts option. Then click Create new broadcast on the right-hand side.
From here, you’ll need to do the standard stuff of crafting a compelling subject line (bonus points for running an A/B split test and then adding some personality filled copy!
Next comes the part where we’ll embed the video directly in your email. ?
To do this, just check that your cursor is in the location you want to insert the video, click the plus on the left of the editor and select ‘video’. You’ll then see the settings available over on the right-hand side, with two options. The first is for URL.
With this option you can paste a URL of your YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia hosted video and ConvertKit will begin processing the video to make use of the thumbnail in your email copy.
It will automatically place a play icon over the thumbnail and using these options here you can adjust the accent colour and colour of the play icon to suit your brand or contrast nicely with the thumbnail design.
Now, this next bit is super cool and a highly valuable way to create more engagement in your emails and click throughs for your video. Toggle this option right here to allow ConvertKit to generate a 15sec section of animated gif from your video content.
Depending on the length of your video, generating this animated gif may take a little while so just let it work its magic and come back when it’s done.
If you want to edit the 15-sec section that has been made into a gif, just click edit here and drag the selection to suit. Remember that you’re wanting a 15-sec part that catches the eye and makes someone want to watch the video, so be conscious of the section you’re selecting here.
Leaving the gif preview option off will default to using the videos thumbnail as the preview image.
All of the other regular tools are also there as well, so you can choose to right, center, or left align your video, adjust the video size, and more.
There’s also an option to play the video within the email itself, when supported.
Now, it has to be said that many email programs that your recipients will be using won’t play the video inline in the email. However, by toggling this option on, if a recipient is using a client that supports native video such as Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or Outlook.com it will play the video like so, right within the email. And importantly, and other email clients should fall back to show the standard animated preview.
Remember though, when using this inline playback option. Any plays of your video on YouTube won’t be counted towards your video view count, as they are happening outside of the YouTube platform. So be wary of using this if your goal for sending your email campaign is to drive more traffic to your YouTube videos.
Now, the other option here is to actually upload the video file directly to ConvertKit and bypass other hosting options entirely. When you choose this option, the video playback is actually hosted on a ConvertKit page, and played back within a ConvertKit branded player. This is fine, if you want to get a simple direct video message out to your audience, and not worry about hosting the video anywhere else, but in many cases the preference would be to host the video somewhere that makes sense for the action you want a viewer to take after watching the video.
How cool is this, and it’s super simple. It’s just another reason why I love ConvertKit for my email database.
