What’s the price for creating videos?

When you’re considering a video marketing strategy to grow your business and looking to engage a video production company, one of the most common questions you’ll likely be asking is how much is this video production going to cost? Can I get an idea of a video production cost breakdown? No matter what kind of video you need from us at Innovate Media, it’s our goal to first spend some time with you identifying the right videos to create for your audience and business. Run of the mill video production companies won’t do that.

As such, we can’t offer rate cards or a cookie cutter approach to pricing a corporate video project. There are so many variables. It’s like asking how much it’s going to cost to take an overseas holiday. Lots of variables in the cost of video production can lead to different levels of investment and different expectations for the final video.

Typical costs of video projects

That said, we understand that not addressing price up front is one of the most frustrating things in a sales process. So whilst we can’t give you a specific cost for producing your video project right now, or a set fee per finished minute, what we can do is provide you an understanding of the range of typical costs for different projects and the factors that determine this. That will allow you to determine what you can achieve with your budget.

The majority of our videos that we deliver for our clients fall in a range somewhere between $3000 and $8000. We’ve certainly done videos for less and we’ve completed plenty of high production value projects. Regardless of your budget will always work with you to deliver our best work within the scope that’s set up to return on your video investment and get results.

VIDEO PRODUCTION PACKAGES

COST VARIABLES IN THE VIDEO PRODUCTION PROCESS

For every project, the different factors that affect the cost are things such as the level and complexity of pre-production planning that’s required. Script writing requirements, the number of shoot hours or days, multiple locations, (or if it can be filmed in our in house studio) location costs, longer videos, and the size of the crew needed to achieve the outcome.

The post production costs and editing time vary depending on the style of the editing, stock footage purchases, visual effects and the level of the motion graphics or animation required, whether we need to source extra equipment, professional actors or on camera talent or provide a higher level of direction.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT

It is critical to remember here is that the corporate videos that are most important to represent your brand often have a long shelf life and they’ll be set up to return on their investment for years to come. On the other hand, you don’t want to be over investing for a high production value video that you’ll only use for a short time or in a very specific way. Many costs can be avoided.
