Requirement
Caloundra City Private School is a non-denominational independent school providing education from early learning to Year 12 offering a highly personalised approach. Working with each student, CCPS provides an education that prepares each student for success in a competitive world.
Caloundra City Private School have been working with Innovate Media since 2022 when they were looking for a new way to explain the offerings of the school to prospective families and best present the leadership team, school facilities and values. Previously, this was communicated via photography and brochures and it was time to explore video as a marketing tool.
Process
The initial video project strategy saw the development of a series of 2-3 minute school introduction videos for the website. This consisted of a Principals welcome message, an explanation from the Governance Team, a general school overview and an introduction to the Kindergarten. Through an information gathering process, we developed interview scripts to guide each presenter on their delivery to camera in a conversational yet succinct manner. The interviews and b roll footage was captured over a 2 day period to be minimally disruptive to the school operations.
Over time, the schools marketing requirements saw the added production of:
- A series of studio filmed social media video blogs where the Principal presented a number of topics aimed at the internal school community. Filmed on greenscreen with an auto prompter, these messages were akin to a 1:1 presentation style talking head.
- A long format promotion of the schools literacy program
- A promotional piece and social media edits for the school’s holiday care and after school program
It was evident after seeing a continuing need for regular video marketing requirements that Caloundra City Private School joined Innovate Media’s Partnership program. This allowed CCPS guaranteed production hours each month with priority status over ad hoc client projects, a growing b-roll footage library to use for their own DIY video marketing initiatives and a monthly strategy planning meeting to align their video content deliverables to their overall business and marketing goals. The retainer-like partnership enables the Innovate Media team to become experts with business’ goals and priorities as well as a brand manager-like understanding of the businesses branding requirements, in the same way that an internal marketing team would.
To date, as part of the monthly video partnership content deliverables, CCPS have produced:
- Promotional video and social media variations for the Early Learning Centre
- Principal’s welcome message
- Updated versions of the school overview and literacy program videos
- Individual subject introductions for the course digital handbook
- Series of ‘evergreen’ social media video ads

Success
The monthly strategy sessions enables the CCPS Marketing Manager to plan ahead and brief requirements on a rolling content calendar, check in on how previous video content has performed but also – and perhaps more importantly – focus on other marketing priorities, while trusting that Innovate Media fully understand the aims of the communication piece and the best way to deliver the message. It’s a low-touch approach where once a project has been planned out and filmed, our clients only need to review and approve the final edit.
The videos are gaining traction on the school’s social media accounts to drive traffic to the school’s website while the extended reach of the social media platforms is allowing the marketing team to promote the school to thousands more potential students and families.
It’s allowed our marketing to become more engaged. We’ve been able to reach more customers, we’ve had thousands of views on our videos and that’s thousands of people in the community that have just seen a little glimpse into our school.

One of the biggest benefits of regular video marketing support is it just means that I can focus on other marketing priorities and I have the confidence knowing that Innovate Media, understand our strategy and objectives and they are creating the high quality content that we need for our marketing campaigns.

We were engaging the company to do quite a lot of video content for us and what we liked most about the partnership packages is that it does involve the strategy in the planning session. So it was really valuable having those regular check-ins. They just know what you’re trying to achieve and what you’re doing. So there’s just so much value in the partnerships.
